9. 270 would do for me. The only additional states we cold possibly get would be IN and possibly GA.
No way to get to 400.

17. I think 400 will be really tough to get
That would require GA, IN, and a few other states not as likely to fall into place like MT and ND.

11. What is it about the Missouri River especially the west bank, that makes ppl vote Repuke?
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 07:18 PM by kenny blankenship
Something in the Missouri River water? An ancient Indian Curse? The fact that they've been geographically isolated for so long, cut off from contact with the rest of the world? There's an ugly red stripe from Abilene TX to Bismark ND-an axis of weasel lying along the longitude of 100°W. The only thing that seems to physically correspond to this line is the Missouri River.

Is it a legacy of the Indian Wars? Perhaps it's because beyond the Missouri and up to the Rockies, the wars of extermination against America's indigenous people are a more recent memory than elsewhere, and a more of an active part of the political culture?

I'm sure I'm offending literally dozens of people with this generalizing speculation about memories of genocide and party affiliation. If you're offended by this rest assured I was absolutely thinking of you in particular when I wrote those horrible slanderous things about your region.

13. Just like my bet I made with a coworker except I have Indiana going to Obama for 375
He has 378 with North Dakota going to Obama. I actually hope I lose this bet because whoever is closest to the final tally has to buy the other a milkshake. More for Obama = more of a mandate! Go Obama!

20. This looks pretty good to me. I think Obama will win Missouri, considering how he closed
there in the primaries. It seems like it's always late before Missouri's called.

I'll be kind of surprised if he wins both Florida and Ohio, but it's possible I guess.
