Remember that Zogby Halloween poll? No decent journalist would interpret that as a McCain comeback.

...and none did. But one INDECENT newspaper decided to run with it today.

Today's cover of the New York Post--can someone find it for me?--had McCain's head photo-shopped onto a Magicians body. "Mac Miracle" it said, or some such, and the cover article said that due to this new poll, McCain had regained the lead and had SOMEHOW turned a long-shot race into a stunning dead heat.

And yes, it was ALL based on a single one-day polling that Drudge reported. From Zogby. Out of 300 Americans surveyed. On a Friday. On Halloween. And no, there was no mention of Saturday's sample that had Obama ahead by 10 points, or the fact that none of this data had the slightest impact on Zogby's tracking poll.

According to the NY Post and the NY Post alone, this race is anyone's to win. And I don't know who I'm more embarrassed for: the Post, Zogby, Drudge, McCain, or any ignoramus who believed this story for a second.
