I was just curious if the some churches were encouraging people to vote for a particular party today.


I attended a Catholic mass and the priest said that we would be voting for 'the lesser of two evils'. That both candidates support embryonic stem cell research and that met they were both wrong on the the right to life issue.

And he concluded by saying that of course there were many other issues to be concerned about.

I was expecting a more direct Republican endorsement. This one was very neutral (central Nebraska).

5. There was an ad on a couple hours ago

by a Catholic Priest opposing Obama's abortion position and he called him Barack Hussein Obama. They flashed the credits so fast at the end I didn't catch who sponsored it.

4. My church is very apolitical

although me ans my spoise were tasked with "doing announcements".

My wife told the congregation that she was not allowing me to say anything because it was entirely to close to the election. Everyone knows who we are voting for and everyone laughed.

6. Thank God my Church does not take any stances on

political issues. They just told us to vote. Not even a hint of telling us who to vote for.

7. I generally don't go, but my husband does....

He said the reading this week was all about giving to the poor and caring for the needy. He said he wanted so badly to shout out, "But...but isn't that socialism??!"

any church it would be the UU.. The manager of our co-op belongs as well as some of our customers and they're all reality based peeps.

11. In 2004 the church I went to - had a long sermon about the ills of abortion.

Made me utterly uncomfortable.

I don't go there much anymore, even less so this Sunday. Went to jail instead. (just visiting!)

13. Not today it was all Souls Day

But the past two weeks, yes. Though it was about respecting Life, not particular party mention, and I personally decided that the Dems have more respect for life.
