PA, OH, MO, NC, NV are getting closer!

THOSE are the states that matter!

If you can work them tomorrow and Tuesday please do!

If you can make calls to those states please do!

Damn, I don't give a crap if the national polls show us up 15 points. Only the electoral votes matter!

Why the national polls talk???

1. If you're going by the Mason-Dixon Poll, it's notoriously unreliable.
Take a deep breath and go here:

2. Chill down

PA may be closer but ALL polls have Obama at least 4 points up. Obama is going to win PA.
Obama doesn't need any of the other states you mention, but anyway he's likely to carry most of them (my guess is all of them minus MO).

3. Why the hell does it bother you so much? This is the third thread
in a 48 hr period that you've started on this topic. What is your problem? And what are we supposed to do about "tightening" state polls? Cut it out!

4. PLEASE
Review your presidential electoral history... If a candidate won the popular vote by doublk digits he always won an Electoral College landslide...

That doesn't mean people should become relaxed but a fact's a fact...

6. Actually, Obama has expanded his lead in all those states according to Mason-Dixon.
So that would be the reverse of getting closer, no?

13. Tightening must always be put in conbtetx: is Obama's number eroding???
If not, then the so-called "tightening" doesn't matter a whole lot. You need a fucking majority to win, you know?

16. Actually they both do matter
States don't usually vote independently of each other. Usually there are particular trends. If certain demographics shift in one state, they shift accordingly in others.

Yes, the polls in the states you mentioned have tightened, but Obama's numbers have for the most part remained steady. If Obama maintains a strong national lead going into this, he will likely keep PA, take NV, OH, etc.

Now, that said I hope that those who live in those states can take the day off. Complacency doesn't help, but honestly I don't think there are any Obama supporters that are getting complacent in the least. The ground game in the states you mentioned will be out in full force.

17. State polls tend to lag behind the national polls
and, based on the national polls, the trend favors Obama.

I'm worried more about the "Diebold Effect" and voter suppression in the swing states than any poll numbers.

they all show an Obama surge from their previous polls. Again what is with the worry? Just GOTV

19. The Mason Dixon polls are actually no closer compared to their own prior polls.
They've always been close, some of them are actually increasing for Obama.

It's just that they are close in comparison to the polls from other firms. You can't gauge a trend that way.

20. Give us a sample of the polls you are taking about
because the average polling show Obama with a comfortable lead in the EVS. Now why do you think most pundits who are in this tightening frenzy still Obama over 270 EVs? Look these final election predictions and show me one that has McCain winning.

28. With 2 days to go Obama still has a comfortable lead
in EVS. The election is this tuesday not next week. There isn't enough polling time for the numbers to fall much lower is it? I think we need to do what we can to help and just chill out. It's looking great for our guy.

29. Why are so quick to dismiss great news from the national polls?
Those state polls you are concerned about are from one polling firm that leans right. And even those polls show an Obama increase from their previous polls. Of course we should not take anything for granted but it is looking very very good for Obama.

31. Your concern is noted, And just for the record, the WP had both national and
state polls this morning and they all point to the same thing. Landslide in EV and landslide in popular vote - but MORE of a landslide in EV.
