As a mom of a special needs child - I have to say thank you to Barack Obama. |
|
He never forgets to mention people with disablities in his speech.
He is truly going to be a president for all the people.

2. I know! I love just how incredibly inclusive his message is. |

Living in South Dakota, I was really struck by how intent he seems to be on working with the Native American Tribes in this country.
Truly a man of the people.

He says he wants us to work with them to heal America.
Amazing. Inspirational.

7. It really sucks that... |

...His support for queer people would be used against him so harshly. I do believe he supports equality but the fact he's admitted to being against gay marriage does put a dampener on my enthusiasm. Of course, in hindsight, sometimes no news is good news. The last presidential campaign was absolutely disgusting in the way Bush used us to rile up the religious crazies.
Of course, I also remember that speech he gave to a black audience about tolerance.
Clinton gave us DOMA and DADT. I'm cautiously optimistic that Obama might push the envelope a bit.
