This is nuts.. The Wright commerical is being shown in Iowa |
|
We are not a battleground.. And the point of running that piece of crap here would be?
They know they have lost and are going out throwing as much mud as possible.

1. It's probably a national ad buy, since those are generally cheaper than doing it by market. |

2. And it's all the same shit we heard in the primaries, and was hinted about for months ("when will |
|
the Republicans bring Wright back?") I can't see how it'll push away enough people in time.

12. And in Minnesota, on CBS "The Unit." |
|
Do they really think that anyone cares about this at this time?
Of course, as Bill Maher said the other day; Obama sat at the pew for 20 years and they still say he is a Muslim, while McCain does not go to church and they say he is a Christian.

but I have seen the Bachmann "Tinklenberg broke the law" commercial about 27 times tonight, actually Googled it and found that MPR had debunked it http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2008/10/29/bachmannad/

5. I think Iowa's love for Obama is an awesome story, BTW. |
|
It seems reciprocal. They helped start off his journey to the Presidency, and he hasn't forgotten them either. He came back this week, even though he didn't need to, just to say THANK YOU.
Thanks to a half-Kenyan dude from Hawaii, Iowa may not go Red for decades. :)

Very few minorities in the state.
You know your candidate is in bad shape when you're banking on a Bradley effect.... which quite possibly doesn't exist

18. They're barking up the wrong state... |
|
Iowa handily said "YES, WE CAN!" to Obama in the Iowa caucuses. Hillary entered the state as the favorite, and she was doing well in the polls. So was Edwards. Iowans took their "first in the nation" status very seriously, and they attended Obama's rallies, heard his speeches and experienced his unparalleled ground game. They loved him and overwhelmingly affirmed him in the Iowa caucuses.
Iowa is 97 percent white, and those Iowans enthusiastically caucused for Obama. This is the last place in which the Bradley effect would exist--if it does exist at all. If McCain is under that assumption, then he is sorely misguided.

15. At this point, McCain is not trying to win... |
|
...he's trying to avoid a landslide.
He's only attempting to get the base to the polls, so he isn't totally humiliated beyond measure.
The reason those ads are showing in Iowa, and I'm in Iowa and I've seen them--is because McCain is trying to get the base out to vote. If McCain was even in this race, he would be running ads that appeal to Indies, undecideds and maybe some Dems who might consider voting for McCain.
McCain is not campaigning that way. He's kow towing to the radical base.
Sarah Palin will be in Dubuque, Iowa tomorrow. Dubuque is a small city with a very high percentage of Catholics--many who are very pro life. They're sending Palin into "base" territory---not into the bigger cities or areas where Independents or larger populations are. They're specifically targeting the nutjob base.
This is good news for us.

remember when they preempted Ted Koppel's Nightline where he read the names of all soldiers who had died in Iraq way back when?
Those people need to burn in hell AFTER they are fined or kicked out of the business once the fairness doctrine is reinstated.

20. They have nothing left to lose |
|
They did everything else and it wasn't enough to close the gap. They sure can't launch a positive program this late in the game. That's the only thing left for them. They have to win about 90% of the undecideds. That seems unlikely, but for a person to be truly undecided at this point, they aren't looking to inform themselves. It is a perfectly sensible tactic.
Of course the downside is that some people who had recently decided to vote for McCain could now be pushed away by this campaign, but that's all McCain has left.

but they've shown others as well.
This last one is a stupid one.
No, that's not true, I just remembered another one I saw earlier today with several people saying they're Joe the Plumber and how Obama wants to tax them more.
Intelligently dishonest. So dishonest that only the ignorant will believe these ads, but then again, they want to believe them.
