Halloween night, someone sprayed the McCain Palin signs in our neighborhood |
|
with the international NO sign in bright red.
This is of course not good, but I will point out this did not happen in the prior two election years. In fact my Kerry signs were trashed on Halloween nightin 2004.
No one touched the Obama signs, or any of the local candidates for either party, just the McCain ones.
One of the homeowners put up a poster that said "Socialist Democrats Against free speech with an arrow pointing to the defaced McCain sign. I would like to tell him that at least his sign wasn't ripped off the INSIDE of his storm door, torn in half and left to drown in the rain, like my Kerry sign was 4 years ago.

3. that is how I interpreted the meaning of the poster. And you are correct, not silenced |
|
just rebuked.
I think two things: your point re: homeowner not realizing what free speech is and the perpetrators not thinking about the free speech issue at all. Probably kids.
Definitely taking tips from Palin. And if I find any damage to MY signs, I know the first place I am going to inquire.
