It is the duty of every man to bear arms in the defense of liberty. This is not a call to revolution, but a call to deter tyranny. The founders knew that a tyrannical government can only oppress its people after it first strips them of their inalienable right of self-defense. This is the one right that protects all others. Free people must be able to form militias not beholden to the government, especially when their natural rights are being subdued.

There is a distinct possibility that America will move towards socialism. Classes of society will be pitted against each other and the government will grow more obtrusive in the lives of its people. Phrases such as "gun control" are replaced by "gun safety" and terms such as "reasonable restrictions" predominate as the government tries ensures that the people are absolutely dependent upon it for even their most primal needs.


As the inherent rights of man erode, it is incumbent upon every person to be in a position to take a stand. If the government knows its people are able to defend themselves against submission, the otherwise inevitable oppression may never come to pass. It is through essential preparation that the need to ever fight greatly diminishes.
