NYT: Sarah Palin of Alaska, is not qualified to be vice president
An Imperfect Mate
By Tobin Harshaw

“A growing number of voters have concluded that Senator John McCain’s running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, is not qualified to be vice president, weighing down the Republican ticket in the last days of the campaign,” report Michael Cooper and Dalia Sussman in the morning’s Times:

All told, 59 percent of voters surveyed said Ms. Palin was not prepared for the job, up nine percentage points since the beginning of the month. Nearly a third of voters polled said the vice-presidential selection would be a major factor influencing their vote for president, and those voters broadly favor Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee.

1. In reality, I don't think she's qualified to be Gov. of Alaska.
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 11:59 PM by bluesbassman
Come November 5th, when she's sent packing back to Wasilla with her $150,000 consolation prize, I'm trusting the good people of Alaska to rectify the mistake they made and boot her out of office.

edit for spelling - bb

8. Good call Frenchie. That would make her a "MINO".
Mother In Name Only. Nobody has the right to drag an infant from campaign stop to campaign stop, and use the child as an obvious photo op. Truly reprehensible.

7. Problem is that Alaska is very Republican
And they are only starting to turn against the GOP after massive corruption. Troopergate is mild compared to the corruption on the level of Murkowski, Stevens, and Young. The GOP held the Governor's mansion because they had the good sense to replace Murkowski with somebody else. Even somebody as incapable as Palin was acceptable. Young survived his primary challenge (barely) and the National GOP was dumb enough to endorse Stevens so now both of them will lose to Democrats. But whether or not Begich and Berkowitz hold their seats and the Democratic Party in Alaska is revitalized is a different story.

9. Perhaps having their dirty laundry aired on the world stage will motivate them.
My perception is that the rank and file Alaskan is more "independent" than repug. They just vote repug because the candidates align themselves that way for the money and influence the GOP can provide.

5. I really couldn't listen to the full radio "Call from Sarkozny" punking.
It was a disgrace that a person so gullible and uninformed could be in the position she is in.
