If Obama wins decisively -- I'm gonna have a Fox-Watching Orgy
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 07:12 AM by Armstead
(I realize it's still a big "if" because it's not over 'til it's over, and my pessimistic side keeps nagging about a flip in the results. But I'm allowing myself to indulge in some premature optimism here...)

So far this election, every time I have sampled Faux News for even a moment it has been GOP Propaganda.

They're either "investigating" Acorn, "exposing" plans for massive Democrat voting fraud, masturbating over what William Ayers did decades ago, bringing up some new "radical" with a Muslim name, interviewing McCain, Palin or one of their surrogates and washed up CONservatives, having a host try to beast up some Democrat or "liberal," ...etc. etc. etc.

I don't think my timing is that uncanny. I suspect it's more that Fox has been in GOP campaign mode 24/7.

It has been irritating and somewhat scary thinking that there is a segment of the public that is buying the crap they're selling. So I don't watch for more than a couple of minutes, to keep my blood pressure from boiling over -- or letting my paranoid side get out of hand.

But if Obama wins with sufficient margins to negate any possibility of a Republican "challenge" I'm going to plop down and have a Fox-watching Party. I will be reveling in Schadenfreude (enjoying the suffering of others) watching their heads explode. I will be happily watching their whining, rationalizations, self-flagellation, dire predictions of life under Socialism...etc.

IF we pull this off, it will be so wonderful to be able to relegate Fox News to the realm of Comic Relief for a while.

1. Maybe we should send them some rope with a nice note
suggesting what they can do with it. Mass Republican suicide. Poor freepers!

4. I'm with you. If Obama takes VA and PA early, I'm switching on over.

5. I think Fox is actually secretly hoping for a McCain loss
If McCain wins, what would they do for the next four years? If Obama wins, they will have something new to be upset about every day, and being upset is what they and their audience are all about. Over the long haul, an Obama in probably means bigger ratings for them than if McCain wins.

6. I'll never forget the long faces and somber atmosphere election night 2006 on Fox.
Brit Hume was the key guy. I had been watching CNN & MSNBC. Very active, bright sets. Spirited discussions. It was an exciting night. Who would win what? Surprise results everywhere.

Flipped to Fox. Dark set. Three guys, one of whom was Hume, were moving slowly, flipping thru papers in front of them. Speaking slowly. Long faces. "Well," Hume said. "It looks like the results out of (name your state) are similar to the others...."

BWAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAA. They had lost their ability to even TRY to look fair and balanced, as if they didn't have a horse in the race!

8. I won't even watch McNeil-Lehrer... I don't care if I NEVER hear another slime-slinging GOPer
ever... I swear to the god I don't believe in

never

I doubt if I'll even come here for all the left hemisphere analysis, or windy, poetic pap.

nothin' is going to negatively effect my serenity and joy on Wednesday

I may spray paint my Cargo Van with red white and blue...

YES WE DID

and toodle around crackerville with something righteous thumping from my speakers

9. Don't watch Fox, why give them the business? They couldn't care less if you watch them out of hate.

10. It's going to be one big pity party
But secretly, I'm sure that they're happy that they won't have to suffer that dumb ass, Palin anymore.

11. Are you sure about the faux news election coverage being anti-Obama?
Pew recently released a poll that stated while MSNBC and CNN were like 65+% anti-mccain/28% anti-Obama, fox was 40%-40%. C'mon, they are fair and balanced! :sarcasm:

I'm with you to watching the sad faces on fox tomorrow. Watching their coverage after the first bush/Kerry debate was priceless. They wanted to say something positive but had nothing. Oh yeah, they will be wallowing in self-pity tomorrow night and I will tune in every so often for a celebratory laugh.

12. I already started doing it. Watching their heads explode.
Been doing it for the past week or so, and yes, it feels good. I love watching Hannity cry and complain about what Obama is getting away with.

13. I actually think Brit Hume has been rather fair to Obama...at least for a Fox person
It's the roundtable I wanna see...Kristol, Barnes and Hannity and will be MIA. LOL Brit hasn't been as rough on Obama as the rest of them jerks on there. I think Shep, Chris Wallace, and Major Garrett at least try to resemble journalists.

15. I WATCHED Fox News Sunday yesterday and thought pigs were flying
when Brit Hume said he believed David Plough (Plouff) in detailing what results the Obama campaign expected.

I had to make sure there were no locusts flying about the house.
