Why do DUers watch repub shows then come here to complain about them?
We already know they're repubs and we already know they're lying. Nothing's changed since yesterday and nothing's going to change them tomorrow after Obama is elected president. They're still going to be lying repubs. If you really hate Joe "the Murderer" Scar, Rush "Pedophile" Limbaugh and the like then do the cruelest thing you can do to people like that.

TURN THEM OFF!

Nothing hurts a bloviator more than losing an audience. :hi:

4. LOL! At least you're intellectually honest.
Still, turning them off would be the best revenge, don't you think?

3. To make sure the stress levels of the rest of us who won't watch it go through the roof
THey love torturing us and then claiming we're limiting free speech if we complain about it.

THat's why I just hide all the "entertainment tonight" level of discourse here and ignore the most prolific that seem to offer nothing else but "OMG!! DID YOU HEAR WHAT ____ SAID!!11!!"

5. oh believe me. I'm an unreliable audience.
once every 4 years. even less reliable than submarine Christians that show up at church at Christmas and Easter.

I just have to go check them out from a position of strength and remind myself WHY WE FIGHT

9. Guilty. Habit of watching Joe Scarface. Your point is well taken. But, it IS helpful...
it IS helpful to be aware of what's going on in the world.

The Fox morning show and Joe Scarface combined have a larger audience than CNN. Not to be aware that they are running an anti-Obamafest (and have been all year) is to stick head in sand and dynamite in orifice that is sticking out.

You can't fight something, unless you know what the enemy is saying.

Point: I have a friend, a Dem., who watches Joe Scarface (and unlike me, believes him), and who reads Drudge. When he panics and asks me about this or that (and he does), I am fully prepared to explain what Joe Scarface was talking about and that he was lying. I don't read Drudge, so I keep pointing out to that friend that when McSame's staff showed him the Internet for the first time, the site they showed him was (drumroll please) ... Drudge Report.

13. I'm not telling EVERYONE not to watch them.
I'm talking about those who can't handle the disinformation. There have been at least seven individual threads whining about Joe "the Murderer" Scar this morning, so far. If you can watch and understand that this guy is a liar who only cares about ratings and shilling for repubs, great! If you can't handle that like an adult then you probably shouldn't watch.

10. I advocate keeping an eye on the opposition as much as the next guy
but there's no way in pluperfect hell that I'm going to sit through endless hours of dreck (replete with commercials) to find out what strategeries they're cooking up in their pointed little heads.

Besides, I can always come here and get the Reader's Digest condensed version. I don't know how you do it, but those who watch that tripe day in & day out are made of stronger stuff than me.

12. Not only do they watch, they give us word-by-word transcriptions totally out of context.
Typical thread title: "Did you hear that? That blonde idiot has sunk to a new low!!!111"

It's all part of the insanity around here.

15. Exactly. Do we really need seven separate threads to tell us that Joe the Scar is a liar?
I would think most of us already knew that.

16. As Buzz Click said, they watch then flood the board with line by line transcripts.
Which is just as bad as watching them, or worse.

18. The only way the tv propaganda will go away is...
1) People on our side refuse to go on these shows as guests.
2) People stop watching, so their ratings plummet.
3) We're prepared to summarily discredit and discount them as news sources.

For #3, we don't have to go point-by-point with every bogus issue the pundits pull out of their asses. We need to discredit the source, and we should already have plenty of ammo for that. So you're right. There' no need to watch, or even pay attention anymore.

19. It's called "knowing your enemy" ... some people can stomach watching this to counter
the lies and smears ...

However, I like to think of what I ate as a fond memory, not a visual reminder ...
