Florida: Where's Our Votes?
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 08:08 AM by nvme
I am a Miami-Dade County resident (Florida), you know the state of the 2000debacle. I went to check out the early voting statistics for Sunday Nov 2.
at this link:
http://www.miamidade.gov/elections/
Yesterday was pandemonium at the polls. People were waiting in line for over 7 hours! I know because I drove to one 3 of the locations and everyone one of them were packed. At one location Model City(a strong democratic location) the police were called because there was going to be serious trouble. there was confusion on whether people were going to be denied their vote because a mix-up on the time the poll closed. The situation was diffused. People got to vote. It was an incredibly big turnout.

When went online this am to see the vote totals ALL DATA FOR SUNDAY WAS MISSING! Normally this would not freak me out, but the elections department has been posting the vote totals for that day at midnight. I checked from 6:30 am until now. and nothing. the web cam that the elections department uses in the vote tabulation room is down as well. I might be over-reacting. I just don't feel too good about it though.

I emailed several people from the Obama campaign as well as several people in the elections department.
I also decided to mention it here, because the more that people are aware the more likely it is for someone to notice this discrepancy so I am throwing it out there.
again heres the link: http://www.miamidade.gov/elections/

After you get there click on early voting statistics. I have to work a 14 hour day so i can't follow this one up. I hope i am only being paranoid.

1. Obama's first action as president: Make sure every American can vote!
If Obama gets elected, he should immediately set aside more more money for machines and push through a National Voting Holiday!

3. You can go here to see if your vote is registered...

this list is by county, and you have to use edit/find on your browser to find your name. Choose county, the report uploaded at 1:00 this morning. Left column. They are big files, so be patient.

It's for all early and absentee votes.

5. Great for staying on top of it
The more people who pay attention to things like this, the more difficult it will be for the Republicans to commit election fraud.
