companies? Coal is coal, and there is no such thing as "clean coal". There is only technology which allows those who use it to vastly reduce emissions.

So it would be the power companies bankrupting the coal companies if they refuse to modernize, not the government.

7. Yes, the quote is from a radio interview in Jan 08 about clean fuels

Where Obama said people who choose freely to build coal power plants will have to pay a carbon tax which would mean that the power plant would go "bankrupt" if they don't use clean technology.

It's a cut and paste clip from the interview, so we are not sure what the full context of what he said is... (they only give you half the quote)
