1. I heard Kooky Roberts this morning saying that early voting
is favoring Repukes, "except absentee balloting"

1) How would she (or anyone) know?
2) Can that possibly be true? Are McPain supporters so fired up that THEY are voting early more than Obama supporters?

3. Its the opposite. Early voting favors Dems, absentee favors Rethugs.
Always has in the past anyways.

5. I figured she was wrong, it just amazes me that she
gets so much airplay and is so consistenly either stupidly wrong or lying-wrong.

6. Cokie Roberts is living in fantasy land
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 10:15 AM by brianna69
These are the early voting numbers for Florida with in person early voting and absentee ballots combined:

Total 4,107,894

Party:
2008 2004
Dem 45.5% 40.7%
Rep 37.6% 43.5%
Ind 16.9% 15.8%

Ballot:
Absentee 38.6%
In-person 61.4%

Deomcratic ballots outnumber republican ballots 46% to 38%
This is huge because republicans normally build up a substantial lead in early voting in FL via mail in ballots. This time around with the aggressive early voting campaign launch by the Obama campaign - this time around the democrats go into election day with a cushion in FL. The vapid washington punditocracy led by Cokie is living in the past.

4. If that is true, then a lot of Blacks are voting Repug.
Either that, or someone is flippin' switches.

Just sayin'.

7. It isn't true, it is a fantasy
Check out the hard numbers for early voting(which includes in person voting as well as mail in ballots) I posted above. Cokie is projecting what she wishes was the case. The actual figures tell a whole different story.

8. Take note as well of another statistic
Voting in FL has surpassed 53% of the voting total of 2004 already.
