Georgia is doing it graphically
Georgia is doing to McCain what McCain wants to, but cannot do in Pennsylvania.

Georgia Early Voting 1,994,990 (2004 early voting 660,000 total votes 3,317,336)

White 60.2%
Black 35.1%
Other/Unk 2.2%

This rather graphic poll really says it all.

2. In my opinion, GA will be too close too call for some time on election day
and it will be a sign that we have nothing to worry about nationally.

But he can only win GA if the AA percentage almost holds on election day.

5. she's close
She is close -- closer than we ever thought possible -- AND the healing going on because of this election is amazing. This is where so much voter disenfranchisement of African Americans took place during the civil rights movement.

Now this place is lousy with lawyers, ready to protect the right to vote for anyone who needs it. We're heading in the right direction here.

We're doing Obama bus stops tomorrow. We'll GOTV.

7. interesting to watch as Barr's support tanks
some of that is what happens as a general election approaches and people don't wan't to "throw their vote away."
some of that happened once the Democrats got their nominee. It would have happened if Hillary had gotten the nod.
The rest of it happened during early voting as some "real" conservatives got nervous.

9. I think Obama will take Georgia.
You still have some old school southerners. But the south isn't nearly as racist as it used to be. In fact I would even use the word progressive to describe their political views. I think the GOP's biggest mistake is in counting them as conservative racists that wouldn't vote for black man. I am continuously surprized by the changing attitudes in the south everytime I vist there.

11. If the numbers hold Obama should by 50,000 to 100,000 votes.
AA's - 34.9%
White - 60.4%
Other - 4.7%

If Obama can get 92% of AA's, 26% of Whites, and 60% of Other he can win with 50+% of the vote.

12. Winning Georgia is a real possibility
According to a couple of polls I saw Obama is ahead in Georgia's early voting approximately 55-40. Taking that into account, along with the number of early voters, and taking a SWAG at the total number of voters, I come up with McPalin needing something like 61% of Tuesday's vote to carry Georgia. And the mood of my republican friends here is pretty glum, so they may not get the kind of turnout on Tuesday that they'll need. AND given that, hopefully Chambliss will be nothing but a bad memory after Tuesday as well.

17. I hope Martin can break 50%
The Senate race in Georgia is almost certainly headed to a runoff. But without Obama's coattails pulling Martin along in the runoff election, I think Chambliss is going to have a much easier time. While I would be happy to see Martin come out on top, anything less than 50% will most likely result in Chambliss going back to the Senate.
