I for one, think we are watching a miracle.
I know... lots of people will say it's all pragmatic. I understand that. But here's what I see... The corporatist machine here has so enslaved us. It has our legislature and our courts, national and state, which have legalized the pillaging of the poor. It has had our government executives, most of the time. And it has our people hopelessly brainwashed to be on its side too, even lots of Dems. That's like Obama coming through hurricane-force winds. This should not be possible. And an AA! So quickly, in only a few years, with perfect timing for this.

And it's mainly in the unpredictable things... It's like shit has fallen out of the sky on McC almost constantly - even right down to the Palin prank tape this weekend.

My opinion is that this is God, responding to the cries of grief from the people - millions of them. I don't need anyone to agree with me, and it's fine if any don't like this statement - I understand. But I really do think so, this is my opinion. This has all happened just the same way that I've seen similar things happen in my own life. It has the same "fingerprint" on it that I recognize, from many times that things have worked out for me "somehow" at the 11th hour that had no realistic way of working out. It all looks very normal and ordinary to outsiders, but it isn't.

If I'm right, he will win and not even stealing attempts will stop it. I believe this is also going to be a big learning opportunity for "the church", which needs one badly for being complicit in this.

I believe this is what a lot of people sense in this "movement" that's happening now, regardless of how they describe it - the sense that a leader is being raised up. This is what lots of people mistake for putting Obama on some kind of pedestal. I don't think it's that at all. It's just recognition of the unseen wind, which we can see from the moving of the trees.

1. stop
You are putting too much expectation on Obama, who is just a mortal that will be faced with fierce opposition and tasks that can only have bad outcomes.

He is not a savior. He will not be able to do everything we will want him to do. Many people who support him will turn against him as the days go by, and they will be assisted by the MSM and the Mighty Wurlitzer.

I believe it is wrong for us to talk "miracle" about him. The miracle only lies in the people when they cling to democracy as an ideal.

As to whether God has given us this situation -- why would God think we deserve to be rescued, while in other situations around the globe and through the span of history, nations and peoples have been destroyed without intervention?

3. Very eloquent... and an insightful statement on the whole idea of religion and politics...

"why would God think we deserve to be rescued, while in other situations around the globe and through the span of history, nations and peoples have been destroyed without intervention?"
~snip~

This statement is excellent... it points out a form of American Exceptionalism that is deeply inbred in many on left and right.

Joe, what's your opinion of the RNC (through the California Republican Party) choosing today of all days to file suit against Obama for taking the campaign plane to visit his dying grandmother? Are they evil, or pure evil?

6. Are you my MOM? She says things like this too.
I try to remind her that she didn't believe in what he stood for because she didn't think he stood for anything in the beginning. She had all kinds of Manchurian candidate arguments...who is he really arguments.

Now, he is a messenger from God who has a charge to keep.

I don't have any problems with current day prophets or the belief that God still works miracles TODAY.

The worst thing I can see when the expectations are set so high is not personally working one's faith through===day by day. That I would grow so complacent by having a honest to God messenger in our midst, that I would not think I still had the obligation to seek out what I'm supposed to do during this time.

We have a unique purpose all our own that we need to fulfill too.
Yes,
We
Can.

7. I believe God gives us free will.... but He sure can help give
us a push.

What do you call over 100,000 people at an Obama rally.

I don't think it's Americans thinking we are superior.. The policies in America effect the world.

This is a step in the right direction.

8. Wow. My feelings about what you've written are so complex that I don't know what to say.
On the one hand, I feel exactly the same way. On the other, Obama is not a vending machine sent here to grant magic wishes.

All I can say for now is that I'm happy more than I can even articulate, but that I know that President Obama will be faced with one of the most difficult, arduous tasks that any president in the history of the entire world has faced.

And now I want to focus on doing my part to help him.

He can't do this alone.
