Buy stocks today

The market is flat today..... lots of money is sitting on the sidelines and there will be an explosion of buying on Wednesday - first in the Asian markets overnight, then in the European markets in the morning, and then Wednesday here.

The Dow is around 9300 now.

It will go over 10,000 on Wednesday.

1. Manufacturing at a 26-year low, oil down, recession through 2009.
Your advice may pay off, but it sounds a little rosy to me.

Would you tel your grandmother, on a limited income from her 401k, to buy or would you encourage her to keep her money safe until things shake out?

2. I would tell those under 50 years old that this is a good buying opportunity.....

Over 50 years old? Wait and see.

5. Maybe state it in years 'till retirement...
I'm 41 and I retire in 7 years...

I'd agree that a 10-12-year window would make this a decent buying opportunity.

3. Some very, very selective equities shopping might be in order, but I

would never under any circumstances give or take advice like this, not in this market. There are still two or three huge shoes yet to drop.

4. No. Buy on Friday.
Wall Street traditionally drops after a Democratic win.

After early appointees are known, confidence will return, and the market will go up.

6. Actually, Wall Street does better during Dem administrations than GOP ones...

Historical fact.

7. The talking heads on CNBC are all yapping the Repub talking points
that it won't be good for the market when Obama wins (they're giving him the win)and
Dems take both Senate and House.

All of a sudden, the Repubs have discovered "checks and balances". I laugh out loud when
they say it--with a straight face.

They are all so damn scared they're practically wetting their pants.

They should be recognizing that the Dems will reinvigorate the economy. Energy and health care might
finally get some attention. The war mongering corporations might be in some trouble.

9. Buy Ford stock
2.19 a share. Obama promises to invest billions retooling auto industry factories for electric and hybrids.

12. Could you buy me a bunch of stock, then sell it when the market jumps and
we'll split the difference??? I am completely broke but would LOVE to get in on this.

We can even do a 60/40 split.
