I just swayed a McCain voter in MISSISSIPPI to Obama!! |
|
I went down to smoke and saw him pacing. He had been waiting for me. Said he had to do something tomorrow that he never thought he'd do - vote for McCain. I said "WHY??!!??" He said Obama had said he was going to bankrupt the coal companies.
I said, Look, I come from coal country (Ky.). Coal IS dirty, filthy stuff. What's wrong with pursuing "clean coal" technology? They've been using scrubbers in coal plants for years. And furthermore, I LIKE the idea of pursuing clean energy technology that will put AMERICANS to work!
At the end of the conversation, he said he felt much better about it, that he'd been waiting for me to calm him down, and he's voting for Obqama tomorrow!!
That felt GOOD!

You must be someone who he already respected. He waited to talk to you. I'm glad you were able to reassure him. :)

... by putting them to work on renewable energy sources.
Of course, we'll have to worry about them falling to their deaths from the tops of wind turbines.
Or off the roofs as they install solar panels.
But that's why they'll be able to make the big bucks.
