Message to John McCain from Michigan about the Rev. Wright ad
Dear John,

I just watched your ad about how Senator Obama sat in a radical church for 20 years and it wasn't a problem until the senator ran for election. You know, this ad just may work for some people, but those who have the internet and want to know the truth only have to go to youtube to watch the entire sermon as my husband and I did to find that you are "cherry picking" clips and Rev. Wright's sermon really isn't that radical at all. As a matter of fact, it's a church I would even feel comfortable in.

God Bless America, and God Bless the internet and YouTube

Sincerely,

MelissaB

3. Exactly, the part about America responsible for 9/11
He was actually quoting a republican when he said the "chickens have come home to roost."

6. Odd how things get twisted, isn't it?
I actually thought it was a great sermon and I haven't been to church in years.

9. I'm glad to hear someone else say this.
When this story first came out back in the spring, DH and I sat together and listened to the entire sermon and we both kept saying, "My god, he's right!" from time to time. It was a great sermon! :toast:

10. Dear John,
Just heard about the new Rev. Wright ads that your surrogates are running on TV. Early in the race you declared these clergy attacks "out of bounds", mainly because you have clergy problems of your own that you'd rather not see aired in public. When your spokesperson was asked about these scurrilous 11th hour attacks on Obama, he stated "We can't control these outside groups." Wow. Seems to me I've heard that defense before. When was that? Oh yes, it was BUSH's response to the "Swift Boat attacks" on a war hero, like yourself, John Kerry. Bush stated then that he "had no control over those groups", yet refused to ask them to stop. Just as you will not ask them to pull those ads out of decency. You know very well that the ads are taking comments out of context to try and destroy Obama. You are fine with that. You have every bit of control with those groups, as they are the same people directing your campaign.

I do not expect you to do the right thing and ask them to stop the ads. I can't expect that, because you have refused to do the decent and honorable thing from the moment you declared your candidacy. Your run for the White House will be remembered as the filthiest, most dishonorable, and pathetic, in modern history. I pray that no one ever breaks your record in the future. Our democracy deserves better than that.
