I just saw a quote by Obama on TV. What does THIS mean?? |
|
"We are a nation of laws." - Obama, 2008
------
Haven't heard anything like that for 8 years. What do you think? Does it sound good?

1. We *ARE*. What's wrong with that quote? Nothing! |
|
Too bad Bush and Cheney don't feel the same way.

8. Yes that's the context. I just thought it was striking to see put so plainly... |
|
....after all the hell we've been through the past 8 years.
It's a beautiful change.

5. He's said this many times |
|
Particularly in relation to immigration.
He recently said that to Katie Couric regarding his aunt.

I think it's a wonderful thing to see put so starkly after the Bush crime syndicate has had its way for 8 years.

7. Well, we're not officially in a state of anarchy (yet) |
|
As much as Bush/Cheney think that they can get away with whatever they want.
Is THIS supposed to be Obama's latest dangerously misquotable comment/"gaffe"?

20. Could it be? Is it even possible? |
|
Will political allegiance stop dictating what laws can be broken, and who can break them? Will people be required to answer a subpoena? Will those corporations fined for various forms of malfeasance actually be required to pay the amount a jury awarded the plaintiff? Will "national security issues' continue to reign supreme to protect those in government that break the law, and commit crimes against the American people? Will there be some kind of equality under the law?

22. Oh, like back in the good ol' days? |
|
Back when laws were enforced for ALL citizens, and special laws weren't passed for 'special' citizens? Gee, that sounds good.
