Philadelphia, are you ready?
I understand that it's expected to rain tomorrow, and I know they don't have early voting in PA. I've been to Philly, and I know you're a tough bunch, but I hate to see you guys standing in the rain in long lines.

How is everybody gearing up for this? Anybody camping out?

1. It looks like showers aren't predicted to start till 3:00.
So, hopefully, those who can will get out earlier. I personally live right across the street from my polling place so I'll probably go first thing in the morning.

This particular polling place has never had lines going out the door in my experience. In 2004 their was a line going around the inside of the auditorium (it's a school) but it moved relatively fast. But this year could be different.

2. I'm ready! I'll be there early.
I don't think it's supossed to rain until later on in the evening and it's going to be in the upper sixties, so weather should be fine.

I don't know how much of a factor lines will be. In my neighborhood, there's a polling place about every three blocks.

For some reason, the one I go to is four blocks away in a high school, even though there's another one right across the street and another one in someone's garage on my way. Go figure. The guys has a huge stand up cutout of John Wayne from "Big Jake" in the door way.

The only problem I foresee is the knuckleheads hanging out at the bar down the street drinking up their "disability" checks everyday. For sure, they're voting for McMummy. You know, because if Obama gets in he'll take all their hard earned money and give it the lazy blacks who supossedly stand around drinking up their disability checks.

3. I'm in Philly too.
I took the day off, as did most of my co-workers, tomorrow. Gonna get there at 7 am and hope to beat the crowd.

4. I'll get to my polling place around 5:30-6:00am.

Not difficult to do as it is in the lobby of my apartment building.

I want to be one of the first in line so I can head over to my local Obama office ASAP. In 2004 I got in line at the polls at 6:30 and was #19 in line. So it looks like I'll have to head down earlier this year.

Edited to add "am"

8. I'm relieved about that, Jersey
There will be enough to contend with at the polls, without bad weather.

9. Baltimore is ready to send people to Philly.
Plenty of Baltimore volunteers will be in Philadelphia tomorrow, as well as other parts of PA where we're needed. As someone else noted, serious rain is not predicted until near or after the polls close. The people I talked to over the weekend in Philadelphia are extremely motivated and I don't think a few raindrops are going to keep them, or us, away.
