Pack up your car! (Or bike.)
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 01:45 PM by wildflower
Whether you have voted already or not, I have a suggestion for those of you who will be near any polling places tomorrow:

Pack up your car (or bike) with things that will make it easier for people in voting lines to stay longer.

And whatever you don't end up using, I suggest keeping in the car to give to homeless people you see.

Some suggestions (these will vary according to factors such as the weather in your area):

Water
Umbrellas
Warm items such as gloves, hats, sweaters, blankets
Solar or battery-operated fans for warm-weather areas
Lawn chairs
Sugar-free snacks for those who can't eat sugar
Sugary snacks in case someone suffers a low blood sugar
Games
Music
Anything else you see around the house that would make it easier to pass the time.

Other ideas?

1. Excellent list.
I guess the only other thing I can think of is that after you have voted, offer to hold the place of someone who might have to go to the bathroom.

3. That is an excellent suggestion!
The only thing left I can't see how to get around...what about people who can't wait because they have to go to work? What can be done for them?

Maybe if people agreed to let them to the front of the line?

5. That's a good one, and maybe sunscreen. Also,
I was wondering about medications (such as Benadryl, for people with allergic reactions)?

6. That does sound like a good idea
Especially if the lines are around the block.

I heard on the radio this morning that LA is advising people to vote between 9 and 4. I don't see how that is going to be possible for most people.
