OVER the LAST 12 HOURS: GOP Balloon is Deflating Rapidly
I think a lot of GOP hopes were buoyed by a false media representation of "tightening polls" over the end of last week and through Saturday. This had a very strange effect: they seemed energized for a moment. The McCain campaign, in its Pickett's Charge, tried to press the issue of Pennsylvania, and inflated its followers expectations of polls by citing secret internals, and other such nonsense only engaged in by losing, flailing campaigns. This was a grave mistake to go along with all the other grave mistakes made by the McCain campaign. They expected that the polls on Monday would look like previous election years, with voters clustering at 46,47, and 48 on both sides. They could work with that.

But then the bottom fell out. As the Sunday night polls began to show Obama widening the lead again, the last gasp of the Republican energy collapsed. You can see it today, with the pathetic showing of only 1,000 at McCain's rally this morning, and the laughable Freeper thread about "What to do after Obama wins." The wise ones have known for weeks that Obama is going to flush McCain and Palin right down the toilet of history. It is just now, with the release of all the polls showing 7-13% Obama spreads, that this is dawning on the rest of them. It's an extremely dangerous time for the affective energy to leave the Republican room - for Republicans. If they can't stand in 2-4 hour lines tomorrow, not only will they lose the Presidency (which they will anyway), but they will be even more decimated in the downticket races than they originally feared.

The Mccain campaign seriously mis-timed its final push. It's come up lame and hobbling at noon Monday, as Obama and the Democrats sprint off into the distance. We're gonna win! Keep fighting, but dammit they're beat and tired, and they're quitting. CRUSH THEM!!!

1. Their last hope is IBD/TIPP... which had Obama up by just 2.1 yesterday....

It comes out in a couple hours...... if it shows movement toward Obama, the demoralization will be complete.

3. They've been having a hard time grasping that this election is not like any other.
They got used to their lies, smears, and hate working their magic. They haven't worked this time. People ain't buying what they're selling. The scales have fallen off millions of pairs of eyes.
