And there was an hour long wait to vote at our city hall in this city of 50,000 at noon today. Somehow I don't believe there are any complacent voters here and many, many of them want to be a part of history.

On edit: Funny that the ˚ symbol worked in one place, but not another.

1. I know: 70 here in Waukesha County.
The tulip bulbs I planted a few weeks ago are trying to come up! :(

My husband voted absentee this morning here. There were a handful of people there and he voted with no problem. My daughter and I will vote in person tomorrow. This is a red, red county to I'm not surprised at the lack of lines.

2. I read this morning of someone who voted early in their small community
at the city clerk's and that they actually had to go to her house to cast their votes and she was a McCain support with a bumper sticker and a yard sign. Something is very wrong with that.

It supposed to be in the low 70 here again tomorrow. We need to appreciate this here now and remember it in a month or two. It would be nice to have a mild winter.

4. yeah that's what scares me about absentee voting in these little precincts.
I voted absentee in 2004 the last election, and I was alone in the room turning it in to the clerk. Nobody would have known if she had shredded it. Not that she did, it just made me feel nervous. Of course I look like a Republican and she'd have had no way to know my true affiliation. What does a Republican around here look like, you ask? Just like me: a white, suburban middle aged woman--the DUer part doesn't show. ;)

3. You've already had quite the cold snap there. Nice to have a little
warm spell before things get down to business, lol.

10. Since you are in CA I think that my definition of a cold snap may be quite different than yours.
Typically here I think of November as chilly and gloomy, 39˚ and drizzling or raining. There is usually very little that is redeeming about the weather here in November. What is going to be strange is enjoying a very summer-like day and then having it get dark at 5 p.m.
