Obama's 30 minute ad was a stroke of brilliance!
I don't think anyone can deny the polls were tightening just a bit prior to last Wednesday's special. I don't think McCain could have closed the gap, but it would have made things interesting. However, Obama's ad killed all of McCain's momentum and there has been a clear shift in Obama's favor nationally and in state polling since. I believe his ad will prove to be the difference between a close Obama victory and the mandate we all seek.

And he knew it.

He knew this would play well and rolled it out at just the right moment. Wednesday provided him the chance to take the momentum away from McCain and into the final weekend of the campaign and because of that, his numbers shot up and he's now leading by a solid, if not fantastic, margin.

When Obama wins in a blowout tomorrow, you can thank the ad for giving it to him. I think this campaign will really go down as one of the best run in American history.

1. What was so smart about the move was how far-sighted it was
Obama was already laying the groundwork for it while he was still a bit down in the polls. I think he knew that it'd advantageous for him regardless of his position just based on the predictability of Republican tactics.

2. I said here that

He was 'closing the deal'...while there was been some fluctuation with undecideds depending on what day you look at the polls, my argument has been proven by the fact Obama's polling has been VERY consistent since the speech...in other words, the people who were with im are still with him.

I think he knew...hold serve with the people who are in his corner and it's game over. Of course, those people still gotta go vote. I believe they will.
