8. I've wondered why we're so "red", cause when you think about it . . .
We have Memphis in the west -- large Afro-American population. Nashville in the middle, large number of "immigrants" from other states. Knoxville in the east, large university. The Nashville Tennessean newspaper did a poll last week of middle Tennessee: 45/45.

5. My own theory is McCain knows he's lost, so he's making a money tour.
He's most likely to raise funds by campaigning far to the right and hitting the red states. Those are his donors. The moderates and undecideds won't give him anything now. I think he's campaigning to pay off debt and to collect funds for whatever he does next.

Just a theory, based on nothing, really. :)

7. So how many did he get in Blountville?
If it was a real campaign stop, shouldn't it have been a few miles north in Bristol? Blountville has a whopping population of 2970.

9. the "crowds" play better on TV?
especially with all the free publicity the cable talkies are giving them these past few days

i thing they want the appearance of a groundswell, so they're preaching to the biggest choirs

^just a theory

but i HOPE they're doing some serious damage control-
he needs to haul his unremarkable buttocks back to Arizona, by the looks of it
