New York - With Americans set to cast their votes for president on Tuesday, new figures from Internet audience measurement firm Nielsen Online show that visitors to the website of Democrat Barack Obama have outpaced those to the site of Republican John McCain by a nearly 2-1 margin.
The firm said that unique visitors to BarackObama.com totaled 7.9 million in September, while those to JohnMcCain.com were 4.2 million during the same period.
McCain, however, found strength in the realm of online video.
Total video streams on JohnMcCain.com were 3.2 million, nearly triple the figure from August.
Video streams on BarackObama.com also increased 60% to 2.0 million.
