Media pics of the Grant Park preparations
Every time I drive through Grant Park I get so pumped up. I will be there tomorrow night and I cannot tell how excited I am. The satellite trucks have been setting up for the last week.

1. I just hope Richie doesn't get mixed up and send in the cops to break heads and fire teargas
:sarcasm:

Mayors named Daley tend to get a bit tetchy about what happens in Grant Park.

2. i saw Radiohead this summer at Hutchinson Field
its a much better backdrop for the event, they chose the wrong side of Grant Park.

Man I wish I could be there for this.

7. I'm confused...
The Obama event is in Hutchinson field. Did you mean to say that Radiohead was on the north side of the fountain? I agree that the north side is more picturesque.

9. my bad
Hutchinson field is on the south side, I'm getting my Lollapalooza's mixed up.

Radiohead and Barack Obama on the same field within 6 months of each other? Can we declare this place hallowed ground yet?

3. I have family there - I just emailed them and asked if they were going.
And I told them they were crazy if they didn't get tickets.

I would give anything to be there.

Post lots and lots of pics - okay??

6. It was actually quite difficult to get tickets. I know tons of people who tried to sign
up the minute they got the email invitation and got put on a wait list. I have no idea how I got so lucky. I'm never that lucky.

8. I'm taking my camera...
... but since I can't leave too early I don't know how close to Obama I'll be able to get. I won't be able to line up until 7 p.m or so at the earliest.

10. it's crazy here already
I saw those pics in the Chicago Trib site this morning. It's really starting to take shape. Went out today and traffic was a nightmare, even just before noon. Soooo excited about tomorrow. Daley has been so funny telling everyone to come on down yet the police and fire people are saying stay in your neighborhoods. :toast:
