1. He's GOT to do it...
If he becomes President, and we find ourselves in a national crisis, he can't allow a personal tragedy to keep him from carrying out his duties. I think we're about to get another indicator of his capacity for leadership.

8. Exactly right!
The M$M will be looking carefully for any sign of emotion or sorrow over his grandmother's death, and will portray it as a sign of weakness.

Bastards.

19. They will complain no matter what
If he shows emotion, he's weak. If he doesn't he's uncaring.

You can't win with these people.

will mean more than anything he could say.

it's what she would want. Poor man. Just one more day and she may have seen her Grandson elected. Heartbreaking.

Only one president sits there and reads children's books while the world falls apart, and it wont be Obama.

I'm shocked he didn't cancel, but death affects everyone differently. All my thoughts and vibes are with him and his family, though.

20. He's doing the right thing, exactly what Toots would have wanted him to do. I remember
when my dad died, my then 12-year old son had a rec league championship basketball game that evening. Everybody expected him to not play, but he said he had to because that's where grandpa would have been if he had lived. He was only a reserve, but went out that night and his best game ever, all because, as he said, he wanted to score some points for grandpa. Obama is doing exactly what Toots would have wanted him to do.

12. She's no longer all those miles away, now
she's right there at his side. I know while my father was so ill and so many miles away, it was so hard, but within hours after he died, I was driving home to pack and suddenly, I knew he was right there in the car with me.

She's going to be right there with him, every minute through the rest of this election.

16. He'll be okay. He knew how dire it was and sometimes,
in the end stages of cancer, death is a gift. The whole world wants to hug him now . . . that helps.

23. Oh my goodness, I just thought of that line...
... that he's been ending his speeches with lately. About how "maybe I can't run for president, but if I work hard, maybe my child or grandchild can some day be president!"

(((((Prayers for Barack)))))

Keep in mind folks, most of the people in the crowd have been there waiting for hours and some may not even know.

This will NOT be a mournful thing, I'm sure he doesn't want that. Won't let it happen. The whole purpose of this is to get people pumped up and he's not gonna do/say much that might drag them down.
