OMFG I just had a civil discourse with a Palinite friend of mine....and in the end.....she changed |
|
her mind about Palin. What it took, was the charges for rape kits. She kept saying how she felt like Palin was someone who she could just call up and have a chat with. How she gets things done and isn't afraid. And I let her go on, and on, and on. And I asked her why she didn't like Obama. And she said that she actually does like him, she just doesn't agree with all of his policy ideas. So then I asked her what she thought about Wasilla charging rape victims for their kits while Palin was mayor. She said she didn't know anything about that, and that it didn't seem like a very "Christian" thing to do. So, I pointed her to the information (we were chatting on Yahoo) and changed the subject to when my husband was coming home so that she could look at the stuff without my harping on her. Within about ten minutes, she said, "Oh my Gosh. If I would have known this about her, I never would have thought that she and I had anything in common besides both being Moms. How could someone with daughters think it was ok to charge a rape victim for her exam?"
I told her that I didn't understand it either and then told her about Biden penning the Violence Against Women Act. At that point she told me that she doesn't really like McCain, she just has always voted Republican and she had been planning on voting that way because of how she felt about Palin. I don't know if it will sway her to vote for Obama or not, but she told me that she was going to take another look at him and Biden. I don't know how I remained so calm on the eve of this election, especially when I totally and completely DESPISE Palin, but I did. I'm very proud of myself.

than I am about this sort of crap.
I told a neighbor of mine, who LOVES Sarah Palin!!!!, that she and Palin are both fucking morons. I have no patience left for this shit. My neighbor is a nurse for a women's hospital, the biggest one here in San Diego... She is so fucking clueless... I want to just slap the living shit right out of her...
Next time she mentions Palin, if she dares, I will share the rape kit thing with her... I will try to be more "normal" and not lose it... But it depends on how the election goes... :P

7. Honestly, I am shocked that I was so calm and cool. Normally I |

freak. Maybe it's because I freaked out on my sister earlier today when she said Obama was a socialist? And then within 5 minutes she said she was glad she is on WIC and that Arizona has a medical plan for pregnant women.
:wtf:
