What the hell is up with Rachel Meddow as of late does she want PAPA to win |
|
I'm starting to wonder she still thinks McCain can pull the election out. Mark Binder is telling her she has a better chance on winning the election than PAPA.

and you would be wise not to declare victory too soon. Rachael has been a good realist and one fighting smugness and apathy. Give her a gaddamned break, she's about the best thing to happen to news these dark days.

59. Essene, I hope they're better than NPR. The corporate contributions over there have really |
|
skewed the bias to the right.
I rarely watch the tube except I used to catch Olbermann until he got so bitter I couldn't stand it any more. Having Maddow on is like a new lease on life. Intelligent, respectful of her adversaries, strong in her stances, quick on her feet. And has a liberal bent. What more could you ask for on corporate media news?

Not much else to say about that. The writing is written in big, fat, neon letters all over the wall. If Obama doesn't win, the biggest story tomorrow won't be McCain's victory. It'll be about how every poll, every pundit, and every indicator of this election was absolutely wrong.
If you don't believe that Obama is going to win big tomorrow, then you're in denial.

By DU's own admission, to "steal it," the popular vote and EC have to be close enough to be vague. Not the case here.
Maybe, Wednesday morning, some people will wake up and realize that there really isn't a big, bad, conspiracy running the world behind a curtain.

It's worrisome. Voter purges. Not uniform, but Dems purged. I think she's aware of what is going on. I read his article and suddenly began to feel like 2004 all over again. I want to be optimistic, but this election system we have here is being actively messed with by republicans. Who knows what they've done?
I don't think they can pull a third coup. That's what my botanist just said. She's running for supervisor in Mendocino county, and we've had some great talks. I'm lucky to live here. Very blue.

They can steal PA and VA with their Diebold Republican Electing machineZ. No paper trail, so it doesn't matter how far ahead we are there. They stole FL and OH before, so it is likely they will do it again. They're close anyway. Then they only need one more state — anywhere.

i doubt it
it's rather the electorate that's a problem and that's what has me concerned even now
given bush's record, kerry should have had such a robust win (something like 90/10) that glitches and theft wouldn't have mattered
the problem is the idiots who are swayed by fear mongering, single issue stuff, etc......
and penn has plenty of them
we just have to hope for a large enough turnout in the greater philly and environs area to override anything that happens in the rest of the state

17. My question for the concerned is why are they concerned, we know why |
|
but rather what benefit it is to do all the hand wringing?
Many of us would rather keep our spirits and motivation up and burn disastrous bridges when we are forced to cross them. This isn't a Polly-Anna-ish mindset but rather one that allows one to keep going in the face of opposition.
Take ownership of what you can control and what you can not will resolve its self as The Universe intends. I just see no benefit of the negativity except one selfish reward which would be to cushion your fall and that one won't so much as buy a cup of coffee, so toughen up and prepare to win rather than to lose and if we do "lose" then we'll have to come up with a new plan for the drawing board and matters will be much worse and tougher than knocking on doors, making calls, donating, and voting because it will be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that such things don't work and much more direct actions will be demanded. For now, lets get our votes out and do this if it can be done and save the worrying for our country and our children should the thief come in the night.

There is no room for complacency. Why make it a squeaker when we can make it a mandate? That's also a bit of insurance against election theft. If a little anxiety is motivating people to get off their asses and go to the polls, then it's fine by me.

I'm not jumping up and down for joy yet. I am hoping and have wept a couple of times over that. But I have studied a lot of election integrity material and know that we have only managed to stop around one-third of the dirty tricks Republicans have used to decrease Democratic turnout.
They could still steal another one. I just hope the Republican party elders have appealed to the eager amoral Country Club First crowd to hold back. Let the Democrats in. They'll clean things up quickly and build the surplus back up for Jeb & Sarah to steal later.
But tomorrow I do hope I'll be dancing all night with glee.

Rachel displays the symptoms of a person who throughout the course of their life has been very close to getting what they wanted only to have it denied time and again for often the most perfunctory of reasons. Someone always rushes up and takes a big swig of her half empty glass just as she was about to drink, so she never even gets the chance to consider it half full. What's left is always just enough to leave her resentful and wanting more.
What she needs is a Big Gulp of what we're all going to be guzzling tomorrow. Obama....Oh YEAAAAAH!!!!
It's good for what ails ya!

i posted a ny times article yesterday from sunday's ny times, explaining how indies will likely vote
the article seemed to say that, overall, more indies were dems and/or leaned left than the opposite
however...many indies are socially conservative, while others were big on 'carrying a big stick' attitudes....so that bodes badly for dems
and, of course indies are not the same as undies, but i do believe most undies are really rethugs who simply don't fancy mcliar that much
yet, they may well pull the lever for mcliar, when it comes down to it
lastly, i'm 'concerned' about the youth vote...notoriously fickle....only slightly better turnout in '04 than previous elections, but still lackluster turnout
one article said the youth vote was good for waiting on long lines to attend Obama events, but might not stand in line to vote
so, all that gives me cause for great concern
