Now I REALLY have tears in my eyes. He's crying.
He spoke of family members, including grandparents.

and will make a GREAT president.
This is my last post, #999, until the "Congratulations to President-Elect Obama" tomorrow night.
Barack,
I have known since you gave the speech at the convention in '04 that you would be our first AA president. As I watched your speech, the hair on the back of my neck raised, and I told my dh. He agreed, but said it wouldn't be until '12 or '16. When you announced your candidacy nearly 2 years ago I was fearful that it was too soon, but silently supported you.
I was none too crazy about any of the candidates on either side of the aisle, and when I got a call from someone in your campaign early on, I couldn't commit to supporting you. I grew to like Hillary more and more during the primary season, but you were always my first choice.
Tomorrow afternoon, I will proudly go to vote across the street. One of my daughters (10 & 12 yo.) will come with me. I will ask them to take a picture of me casting my vote for Barack Obama. I will proudly wear my Obama tee-shirt to work and to the poll. I will buy the best bottle of champagne, that my budget can afford, to celebrate tomorrow night when Barack Obama wins the Presidency.
Here's to you Barack Obama, a strong candidate, who, with his grandmother's blessing, I have no doubt, will continue to fight for the best for the people of the United States.
