He looks so human, all of a sudden...
I've been watching Obama's speech in Charlotte on CNN, and this is not the same man I saw give the same speech countless times before with gusto and hope. The Obama we have all come to know and love, the fighter, the advocate, the organizer. He suddenly looks human, you can see the pain in his face, the hop in his step is gone, he looks like he wants to cry his heart out over the death of his grandmother. For a moment, I wish I could be at his side and give him a hug, console him and tell him that we've got his back this time, and that we will carry the torch tomorrow as he has carried all through this campaign.

The more and more I get to know the man, the more and more I truly believe he will be an extraordinary President.

1. I agree. He will be an extraordinary President.
It is very sad that he cannot even take some time to allow himself to mourn....

8. It's got to be an incredible strain
suffering such a loss right now, at the end of a long and (to any of us mortals) exhausting fight. I have nothing but admiration for the man!

10. I agree. It will be so bittersweet on Wednesday when he can finally relax and
enjoy the victory, he will finally be able to let go and feel the sadness too...

3. This is going to be one seriously hard time for a presidency. It will take it's toll.
It does to every President.

9. Quite the contrary....
.... that was one of the most motivational speeches I've seen him give.

Sure, he was using the same words, but the way he talked about his grandmother without making it seem like he was pimping her memory for votes, instead sharing with us how we can all learn from the life she led.

He seemed to be strengthened by telling everyone about it with some of the most sincerity I've heard come from him during all of this campaign (and I've seen this speech over and over and over.) Like never before, he emphasized how WE can overcome this present grief as long as WE work together.

WE SHALL overcome!

I ended that speech feeling better ... and I think he did too.
