Do any of you DUer's know anything about the web site election-projection.net? |
|
I have been looking at its projections, but I don't know anything about the site or how reliable it is. Anybody have any information on this site?

2. Looks like a primitive version of FiveThirtyEight.com |

Nate Silver, who apparently makes a living analyzing baseball statistics (sabermetrics), runs 538.com. He collects all the poll info, weights them based on recency and track record of the pollsters, and runs simulations based on the Margin of Errors. Nate has been interviewed by Dan Rather and by Stephen Colbert, the serious and the whimsical.
Election-projection.net gives John McCain a 0.1% chance of winning. 538.com gives him 1.9% chance. So they're pretty close. 538.com looks a little slicker, a little more professional to me. But I don't know anything about who runs election-projection.net.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
