I am a 33 year old guy with a good job, family, pretty well-grounded.

I am a mess tonight. I haven't been able to work (or think) for a week. Time seems to be creeping along and I look at the clock every fifteen minutes or so. My stomach is in knotts, a little nauseous, etc. I seem to be pacing, forgetting little things like my car keys when I go outside to drive somewhere. This election means everything. I want it done and over with ASAP.

Anyone else going bananas?

I've reloaded the Alaska Daily News home page fifteen times in the same number of minutes waiting for the personnel board investigation of her to finally break.

Everything about my interest in this race is compulsive and borderline neurotic.

I'll need detox come Wednesday.

6. I wish i could go to sleep and wake up in 24 hrs......
The tension is killing me.

Four years ago I was sure Kerry would win (which he did). I listened to the election exit poll results in the morning and relaxed because Kerry was ahead. Then mysteriously, it all began to change.

That was a bad day. I'm not eager to repeat it.

12. Sure, we're all nervous--and I do understand- but, this is better than before
The last two were really bad and the ending was horrible---this time, we have done all we can and our candidate is phenomenal. Try to relax--if there is any anxiety to be had, it will be only if the horrible thing were to happen. Then we all worry.

But try to relax--I feel for you and if I were 33 (I'm much older), I Would probably be where you are.

I'm Canadian and I seem to be going through the same emotions. It's frustrating not being able to vote, but I know the good in America will do the right thing and elect Barack Obama the next President of the United States of America.

Do it for all who've come before. Do it for your friends, your family, yourself. Do it for Brarack's "Toot". Do it for all of us who know a decent, righteous, and just America is still a noble ideal. Do it because the world needs it done.

Hell, do it so I can finally get a good nights sleep.

but overall I'm just restless! I seriously can't sleep!

I think I'm gonna scrub the house clean before morning... I just need something to do with my hands.

70. Don't feel bad
I usually am up until 5 am,and some days I got to get up at 7am!! two hours.
Anyways I am an insomniac from hell.Have been nocturnal for years even as a kid.My mom told me what I could watch on TV as the rest of my family slept. I watched alot of twilight zone and star trek up at 3am at age 6.Sleeping very little, has been a lifelong pattern for me I'm lucky if I get 4 hours.
PSTD can do that to ya.

And I will be a ball of nervous energy until I hear it with my own ears tonight and tomorrow and next week too that Obama is our President-elect.

76. I'm having a hard time. On a conference call, with racing heart!
I can't concentrate! I need to find a monotonous task to district me for several hours! This is hard! I'm so stressed - much more so than four years ago. Then, I was pretty sure we would lose. Now, I see that we will win, but that's somehow more anxiety-inspiring!

I haven't accomplished a thing in a week and I keep having bad dreams, all election related. I'm pulling an all-nighter tonite to watch the returns. Another night with no sleep. If this race goes the wrong way, I'm instructing my husband not to wake me up for 4 years.

33 year old female...will not be going to my graduate classes tonight...pacing uncontrollably, re-arranging the house, cleaning like a mad woman, and spontaneously tearing up at the thought of an Obama presidency. I have no idea what I'm going to do when the husband and kids get home! LOL!

You are not alone.

85. I found the cure
Get out there and help put up door hangers and make phone calls. It makes you feel like you're accomplishing something while you wait. I spent a beautiful morning driving around the countryside putting up door hangers, now I'm having lunch, next I'm going to vote, then I'm going to see about making phone calls. I don't have time to worry.

LOL Plus to top it off, I woke up with bronchitis on Sunday and I'm still sick! I'm afraid I might fall asleep and miss it all. Argh! I've been waiting literally for YEARS to get a great President into office and I might sleep thru his big moment.

Trying to stay awake to see the race called in Ohio!
