Does anyone have a wine recommendation? Does it need to be a dessert wine? Maybe Canadian Icewine?

That's what I believe goes with anything. :)
If you don't feel that $125+ a bottle is something you should spend, I recomend a good shiraz.

14. Yup! I took a poll earlier today and I will be baking a sweet potato and an apple pie |
|
tomorrow. I'm sharing my Grandma's crust recipe tonight too. Here it is for posterity's sake:
Mary's Grandma's Never Fail Pie Crust
4 Cups All Purpose Flour 1 tsp. Salt 1 Table Spoon Sugar Mix those three ingredients and cut in: 1 3/4 cups of Unsalted BUTTER
In a separate bowl, mix together: 1 egg 1 Tablespoon Vinegar 1/4 cup of ice cold water (you can add more COLD water as needed)
Use a fork to work this into the flour and butter mixture. Don't work it too much. Roll into a ball and refrigerate for 1/2 to one hour.
Roll out and use!!! :) It's Yummy! You can keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days, or you can freeze it. If you're going to freeze it, I suggest rolling it out first to make it easier on yourself later.

I've been seeing it on DU for some time now. I obviously missed something, somewhere, and I've frankly been embarrassed to admit it. WHAT GIVES???? :-)
