‘Redskins Rule’ could predict election winner - ESPN Tonight 8:30 pm
http://www.chinapost.com.tw/sports/american-football/2008/11/01/181288/%E2%80%98Redskins-Rule%E2%80%99.htm

WASHINGTON -- A handful of critical National Football League games loom this weekend but none figure to have the impact of Monday’s Pittsburgh at Washington matchup thanks to the “Redskins Rule” of U.S. politics.

For 17 consecutive U.S. presidential ballots, the outcome of the Redskins’last home game before Election Day has been an accurate predictor, some even fancifully claim the true decider, of who will win the White House.

If the Redskins win, the incumbent party in the White House wins the subsequent presidential election. Should the Redskins lose, the party holding the U.S. presidency loses.

...............

Yet to be proven - Go Steelers! Tonight on ESPN at 8:30 pm.

5. Well, since 43 straight US Presidents have been White, I'll say we're breaking some rules :-)
Down with the Steelers! Down with superstition!

I can't help it, I'm originally from NE Ohio. Go Browns (why has god forsaken us?).

14. Except I think Kerry won. Hey, I'm a huge Redskin fan and I'm willing to have them lose
tonight just to be safe - they have a good enough record, they can stand one loss for the sake of the country.

16. You've posted my thoughts of a couple of hours ago -
I also think Kerry won and the election was stolen (see my answer to 1776Forever) -
a Redskins loss will be worth an Obama victory, for sure!

right before the selection of * in 11/00. They were all beside themselves saying this was a great sign for * to win.
