Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 09:45 PM by iamthebandfanman
i was at the local gas station with my gf who works at the establishment when a woman came in to pay for gas...
'im glad this election is going to be over', she said.
we agreed and noded.
'i thought i better get some gas before obama becomes president and its 5 bucks a gallon', she intergected...
'gas will probably go back up no matter who is elected', my girlfriend replied.
'well, either way we are in trouble if that obama gets elected. he took his oath on the kuh-ran!' she stated proudly and with authority.
'no, he didnt.' i said
'well hes a muslim, i know that' she bite-ingly snarked
'no, hes a christian.' i said
'how do you know that?' she replied
'how do i know your really a christian?' i said
'because im telling you i am' she snarked back
'thats why i know obama isnt a muslim, he said he wasnt' i laughed back, 'besides it shouldnt matter what religion anybody is.. this is the united states'.
'our country was founded on christian values!' she was blood red and almost screaming at this point..
before i could say another word my girlfriend blurted out 'yeah and why did they come to america? oh, thats right ... so they could worship any way they wanted! now have a good night!'
the woman stormed out.
(btw, i know how to spell qur'an, just wanted to spell it how she said it)

ive never seen her face get so red while someone was talking.. i was trying to do all the talking so she didnt hafta worry about her managers or owner being told... wanted to make sure she didnt say anything that could potentially get her fired.. but she couldnt take it ;)

after our preschoolers' soccer game at the ymca this weekend, several of us democrats were talking about the election. This older guy comes up with pages of computer print out and says "are yall saying you are voting for Obama? You should read what he said on tv," holding up the papers he was carrying. we were all like"whatever, we've seen him on tv and heard what he said."
he said "well did you know that a federal law suit has been filed against him because he isn't really a citizen?"
We were all like "aw come on he is a us citizen...anyone can file a lawsuit, etc."
and he said "well what will you think when he takes the oath on the 'Ko- ran'?"
and everyone was like Naw. And I said "look, in four years we will be better off and you'll know this stuff you are worried about isn't true."
And he took his papers and went down the bleachers and we all got outside.
bless their hearts though, they really do honestly believe this crap.
I think some of them really want to not be racist so they are willing to believe this stuff because it gives them an excuse besides being racist.

haha.......they love to throw that one around! I know I've many disagreements on that one before.
Actually it was based on freedom of religion!! But you can't tell them that......well, you can but it won't accomplish anything!

7. Seems like a lot of them are just itching for a fight right now. |
|
Impending defeat brings it out in them even more than usual.

8. What I find to be the very sad part of this, is the fact that IF freepers |
|
knew the FACTS, the actual real reality TRUTH facts, we wouldn't be divided.
If all freepers knew the FACT that Barack Obama is an American-born citizen, is not a Muslim and never has been (although I agree w Powell, this should not be an issue whatsoever) that he is not the "most liberal senator (far from it, unfortunately), that his tax plan would benefit almost all of us, right left & center, that he is not a "socialist", that in FACT palin' and mccain are not only known and in mccain's case a self-admitted liar, but that they are IN FACT LYING...
If they knew the FACTS, most freepers, most rightwingers, would be in agreement with us on 85% of all the issues.
In fact we ARE in 85% agreement on the issues...but they don't even know this.
And that's such a sad wasteful unfortunate thing...but the rightwing pundits make their millions off keeping the rightwingers ignorant of these facts.

12. I have two good stories that might make everyone happy... |
|
...Tonight after my son's football game, the kids started chanting "Obama, Obama!!". I was so proud.
...Then my sister told me that our mom (78) wont admit to it (because she doesn't like to be pushed into anything) is going to vote for Obama!!! ...You don't know what a big deal this is.

14. "...founded on christian values..." There are over 300 religions in |
|
the US, and most of them are not among those normally considered to be christian. There were even some Deists amongst the "founding fathers." I hate it when 'they' say things like that, and don't really have a clue. http://undergod.procon.org/viewresource.asp?resourceID=68

15. what happened to "Koran"? |
|
In my Jr. High social studies class (about 30 bazillion years ago in the dark ages before political correctness) we were given a hardcopy of the Koran/Quran. Emblazoned in pretty gold letters on the front was "Koran" and below was the name of the local Mosque that donated them.
