OMFG IT"S OVER!!!! IT"S REALLY GOING TO BE OVER!!! EIGHT YEARS OF TYRANNY!!!!! DONE!!!!! |
|
That how I feel right now.
I've been waiting for this since Florida was stolen in 2000. 2004 was peobably the most crushing defeat I've ever felt.
BUT TOMORROW THIS THING WILL BE OVER!!!!!
An end to right wing tyranny is at hand!!!!!
I am so overjoyed today that tomorrow I don't think I'll be able to concentrate. Eight years of hell finally down the drain!!!
Tomorrow will be our proudest day as Americans as well tell those domsetic terrorists what we really think of them!!!

One more day of phone banking and door knocking, poll watching, driving other people to the polls.
And IF we get our voters voted we probably will win.
If we don't get our voters voted we will probably lose.

Gore and Kerry were not up 11-13 points in the polls the night before the election. We are looking at a landslide.
Even state polls that show solid red are in jeapordy for McCain.
It's done.

17. If polls decided the election I would agree with you. People often confuse polls with |
|
votes.
They aren't the same thing.
The polls tell me that if we get our voters voted we will win.
If polls won the day, I wouldn't be spending all day tomorrow for 14 hours doing GOTV.
I'd let the polls elect our next president instead of the foot work.

we still have to see his stupid ugly smirking face throughout the holidays. Except now it will be puckered hard from all the sour grapes he ingested.

I just think people are really psyched and have every right to be but you and I are old hands at this and have been very disappointed in the last two presidential elections, so it stands to reason that we are more careful and cautious with our enthusiasm, doesn't it? I won't relax until all the votes are in and counted but I have to admit that it sure does look good for the Democratic Party tomorrow!

14. I'm celebrating this one early |
|
I recall the pain of 2004 and thinking how rough the next four years were going to be. I spent the day with Al Franken at the Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge. It was reported as close at the time but Kerry was winning. THe night before we weren't up ten points.
I plan on celebrating now. I'm not a poll worker or a door knocker. I'm a hard working nurse that practices in the trenches.
I'm celebrating now and you can't stop me!!!!!

16. Well; go for it!! I'm just hoping we don't get screwed again.... that's all. |
|
But I'm also having a little drink but I've been moving my house for 3 days and haven't been on DU as much as I would have liked. You have every right to be celebrating! Just the fact that you ARE in the trenches every day gives you that right! Thanks for being there! I know that tomorrow is going to be a Red Letter Day but I hate seeing people crying and angry and fearful and I don't want to see that massive reaction again, that's all, ya know?
I know the champagne will be flowing tomorrow too, for you and me and for all of us.

11. Up 10-13 pts in polls |
|
This isn't Gore or Kerry.
Obama is a candidate killer and McCain is learning what a lot of other people have already learned; Obama is a freakin tidal wave that can't be stopped.
It's over/
The country is really pissed at the Republicans.
This isn't like 2000 or 2004.
Obama will have not only a win but a mandate tomorrow.

9. Tommorow will be a historic one |
|
But tyranny does not give up so easily. It will not be over. It will take a long time to undo the wrongs committed by the previous administration - and that will not come easily.
But it is one small step towards a better America - and the world waits to applaud and is eager to see better days ahead. Just as you are eager to see Obama rise to office, we too are ready.
A real end to the right wing tyranny would be to prosecute them. Perhaps we might even see that, but I am not holding my breath on that one.
