Will McCain concede?
Provided that we get the victory and it is not stolen, do you think McCain will concede? He sounds like he's delusional right now.

Boy, I really went out on a limb there.

11. He can concede tonight
and save us all a lot of bother.

Sarahcuda we're going to have to drag off stage kicking and screaming, though.

12. On the contrary: the Repubs will fight the results for as long as possible.

At least, I think they will. They have that nasty habit of being assholes, in defeat and victory.

18. Is it wrong that I almost want him not to?
I'm picturing an election night where Obama's clearly and unambiguously won - 100, 150 electoral vote margin - with McCain, or better yet Palin, still droning on about how they're certain they won and The American People Really Want Us and yadda yadda yadda.

Much like Palin responding to her being found guilty of ethics violations by claiming she was found guiltless of them, I really want to see those two, Thursday or Friday or next Monday, still claiming they won when communities both reality-based and not have accepted that that's not the case. I kind of want to see one last spasm of incomprehensible idiocy from the top figures of the outgoing party that, just a little more definitively, reduces their party's "legacy" to something you can't even parodize because it's just so damn ridiculous.

I want McCain and Palin's swan song to be a discordant, shrieking tantrum that will make people either roll their eyes or chuckle with deepest mirth for the next several years.

I know the correct response is to want them to kind of slink off under the nearest rock, tails between their legs, without a hint of disagreement over how profoundly they just got curbstomped. It'd be best for the country and might start healing the ridiculous polarization a little bit. Or maybe not. But yeah, I should probably feel at least a little guilty for my little image above, but I'm not entirely sure how guilty I should feel.

19. Depends on the popular vote
If he is down less then 2% nationally, I could see him contesting it as voter fraud (what a laugh). If he is down by 3-12% then I'm sure he will concede as to not hurt his own legacy.

20. of course he will. he's ready for this to be over with.
And then he will promptly begin rehabilitating his reputation in similar fashion to how Bill Clinton has been doing. And will throw Palin under several buses.

It would be AWWWWESOME to see him go Independent. Even if he does caucus with the GOD OVER PEOPLE party

21. His is so old he will probably just forget.
Cindy and Johnny on the eve of their loss.

Johnny: Mother, why are all these people in my room. Can I have another cookie before I go to bed....

Cindy: No dear you need to get into your depends and your jammies now. All these people are here because you just lost the election.

Johnny: Well, hell I don't understand what the big deal is, I haven't had an erection since 1980 when Ronnie was elected.

;)

Hopefully the results will be palinfully obvious to him and he will have no choice but to concede.
