I've been sick, so I didn't know if I'd last in the line. Stood for 2 hours, was doing okay until I was about one loop in the line from the end, and I thought I was going to pass out. But I made it.
BIG kudos to the Obama folks who passed out chips, candy, water and coffee to the people standing in line. They were great, and had flown in from all over. YOU PEOPLE out there are wonderful! Without that water, I wouldn't have made it.
AND, don't worry about the youth vote in Cuyahoga County (Cleveland). They were out en masse today - at least as far as the line I was in, 50% of the voters were students from Cleveland State U. The young girl behind me had tried 3 times before to vote, but had to get out of line, it had taken too long. Today, she was determined to stay. They did their part today, if they hadn't already!
On the way home, I caught sight of some Obama fever... It had started raining. I reached a large intersection, at the red light, one of the busiest in the area, and I saw 8-10 teenagers standing on opposite corners, spread out, holding huge hand-made Obama signs. People driving by blew their horns, and the kids would wave their signs harder and yell back. I couldn't figure out what the hell they were doing - there's no polling place near there - in Ohio, the early polling places were at the BOE for each county, 10 miles away from this corner. WHAT the hell were these kids doing in the rain, for no discenrable reason??? :) I don't know. Just doing it for the joy of it? I blew my horn too and waved and they were happy campers. GOBAMA!
