How late did you stay up on Election Night 2004?
I went to bed around 3:45 because I had to get up for work at 6:30.

In an odd twist of fate, I don't need to get up for work this Wednesday morning, so I expect that the whole thing will be clearly decided by 9:00 ET!

1. I have no idea ...

I was completely blitzed ... and for a bad reason.

I think I posted some here. Maybe not. Maybe that was the next day.

It all runs together.

I was up for 3 days in 2000 though. I'll probably be up most of the night tomorrow *especially* if its called early.

3. I was up all night waiting for the VA returns to announce Senator Webb the winner.
Oops... I mean that was in 2006.

I got pissed off and drink on my ass in 2004 after Kerry conceded.

I don't know how late I was up. Probably pretty late.. er... early in the morning!

6. I think I stayed up until Edwards came out and said
we won't know anything until tomorrow.

And then maybe a couple more hours, IIRC until it was clear that nothing would be resolved, and I was pretty sure we lost :'(

9. fricking LATE
i had to catch a plane back to california from vegas, where i spent the day futilely walking precincts and arranging rides - ohio numbers trickled in at kerry HQ, and by the time i was on the plane, it looked pretty grim - the whole flight was kerry volunteers, and it was DEPRESSING

11. At work on that Wednesday, people were afraid even to talk to me
Everyone was sort of deferential and gave me a wide berth. I was by far the most politically aware among my coworkers (which comparison was, believe me, nothing to brag about), so they all knew that I was much more heavily invested in the process than any of them.

It was a quiet and somber morning in my cube, I can tell you.

10. I went to bed when Kerry said he'd fight to count every vote in Ohio
I'm not sleeping this time until I see a McCain concession speech.

12. I did too.
I had to get up at 0530 and got to PT. I was defeated, but not surprised. Just baffled that America would vote for Bush after 4 years of disasters

14. Until about 5AM.
Didn't have to work the following day.

This time, I'll be up all night and into the next day, just so I can take-in all of the media fallout.
