Leno hit the nail on the head tonight.
He said that Americans rejected the negative campaigning.

I'm proud of the way Dems stuck up for ourselves this year. Instead of cowering, when attacked we banded together. Bachmann called us unamerican and we said "Hell no!"

They tried all sorts of names for Obama. We said "not this time!" and sent him another donation.

Everytime they attacked, we sent more money, spent more time, wrote more letters, and canvassed a little harder.

Obama talked about the politics of division, but I will be willing to bet that the pundits will miss the big story.

Will the pukes learn from their mistakes? I doubt it, because it's all they know. It worked for so long.

But this time, we said "ENOUGH!!"

7. The CNN pundit patrol was all in agreement: There was never any good
reason for Gramps to win this.

Everyone hates the GOP for Iraq and the economy.

No one ever really liked gramps enough to help him.

He's just too damn old, and an also ran.

He had no direction or plan, just winged it and made things worse.

But they also said he tried to make the election about himself and obama.

Obama made the election about the country, and regular people.

After the GOP betrayal, any dem would have won.

I can live with that.

11. This is what it means when we don't capitulate.

When we had gotten to the point of saying, "Enough!", finally the straw had broken the camel's back regarding the Republicans' behavior.

For myself, I could remember the time after 9/11 when people were being critical, there would be others who would quickly quiet them down because they feared the DHS would come after them. And while they were cowering in the corner, these blowhard Superpatriots would insult, scream, threaten and lord over anything that had to do with questioning what was wrong with our nation.

The first thing out of their mouths was how much they admired Bush. The next thing was that if someone "didn't like it here, then they could leave."

And then, the entire immigration thing hit the fan. The superpatriots came out once again and screamed for this nation to be "English only" while they threated anyone with brown skin that they "didn't belong here in this land" because "they were un-American".

And then, when the Dems wanted to investigate 9/11, the Downing Street Memos and call for impeachment, what broke our backs was that impeachment was off the table. The Republicans treated the investigations with such disregard to the point of humiliating the opposition.

Well, when they started to attack Mr. Obama, finally, we stood our ground and said, "Hell no." And what Palin and McCain did during their campaign stops was atrocious. The Republicans awoke a sleeping giant.

Eight years had made us wise to their BS. And now, we were standing up to them without rolling over or playing dead.

Finally, we have crossed the Rubicon.

I just hope that we Dems take our attitude and run with it when Congress gets back into session.

No more bowing down to the blowhard superpatriots and the Republicans. Not any more.

12. The real battle begins tomorrow.
They will try to spin this as a minor victory. They will keep pushing that "center-right" horseshit. We need to keep fighting and keep making noise to let everybody know that the post-Bush America is a LIBERAL nation!

13. Yeah, sure. It was all the negative campaigning.
Not the economy, not the exhaustion from all the Republican scare tactics.

But, yes, hanging together certainly helped break the wall.

14. That was great to see,
and it really surprised me that the lies didn't work this time. That in itself is wonderful! The RW may try it again, but they'll have to at least think twice when they do. It may be, that enough people now have their own access to information sources with the net and all, to see through it.

sticking together on the John Lewis, "Wallace" remarks. I couldn't believe it. I was proud to be a Dem.
