They're Pushing It HARD: "America is a Center-Right Country."
Just now, Laura Ingraham (FOX) joined the Liars' Chorus, even going so far as to assert that OBAMA went to the RIGHT on issues! (Some Socialist!)

THIS IS THE NEXT BIG LIE, to convince Americans not to believe REALITY, but to believe that CONSERVATIVISM ACTUALLY WON.

So---ANYONE who feels ONE IOTA of "sorrow" for these LIARS, these INTRANSIGENT Right-wingers, get your OWN head out of ....the sand, and realize that they've ALREADY BEGUN their FOUR-YEAR Counter-assault.

2. The Corporatocracy is mid-right. Americans are center left
with relative strength in our culture weighted....they can make the case for "center-right".

That's why we need to figure out next how to throw off the yoke of corporate news and opinion making. You know, manufactured consent.

A normal populace would NEVER even entertain the idea of someone as bogus and stupid as Bush or Palin in a high executive office.

Let's just say we have a lot of work to do yet.

3. Obama the Conservative, Bush the Liberal?
Karl Rove the Hippie.

It could work, with a certain crowd.

4. So the Cente-Right Country
is on the verge of electing the most liberal Senator (including even the self-professed socialist) in a landslide?

Something wrong with that picture.

5. It's nonsense as usual.
Makes one's head spin. He's a "socialist" elected by a center right nation. Reality has no meaning for these weirdos.

THE MOST LIBERAL SENATOR (though not technically true). We will be leaning left, so they are free to try to stand in the "middle" all they want. Some middle. Fascism.

6. Let's steal the conservative, "Center-Right" meme!
Obama and the Democrats are winning with a clear mandate, so they are obviously center-right. In fact, we are the true conservative party, and the Republicans are dangerous far-right reactionaries.

That's the new meme! We are the true conservatives!

10. I've been reading the New York Times online, and the readers' comments
show a readership that is left of most of the reporters and commentators.

They like national health care, getting out of Iraq, Obama over McCain, and mass transit and renewable energy over new highways. And those are just reactions to columns that appeared in the last week or so.

14. Its funny but Obama being center/right
ain't so far from the truth. I see him as a near true centrist but then the Reich declares McCain to be a liberal and they'll tag him with socialist as well, so I think we'll mostly agree a lot of these folks have a skewed point of view and a readjustment of the perspective would do us a lot of good.
As far left as you can go in the Senate is Sanders and its not like he some far out loon. You may or may not agree with him but he comes with a thoughtful viewpoint and a readiness to work to get the right things done for the people.

The reason the thinking right has jumped on the Obama bandwagon is that his ideas, approach to problems as well as appointments, and way of thinking is much more in line with classic conservatism than the motley mess that is the current Republican ideology. The GOP needs a total refit to be a governing party in any thing resembling a healthy way.

Who pull THAT out of their arse? What a crock of shit. America was founded by armed revolutionary "insurgents".

21. Center-right insurgents, unfortunately
The merchants like Samuel Adams and John Hancock led the protests against higher taxes (that actually didn't hurt the lower classes) and got the rest of the colonies on board when the King overreacted with the Intolerable Acts. We've been pro-low taxes, big business since the beginning.

I do not have one iota of sorrow in me for those bastards. And they're STILL WRONG.

CONSTANT VIGILANCE, guys. They're not gonna give up easily. And they're so in denial they'll still think they're on top. The rest of us will move onward and forward - WHILE STILL REMAINING VIGILANT.

Let's NEVER let them get the upper hand again!!!

23. They can go to Hell with their mantra.
I'm sick of their propaganda. I'm also tired of their bullying and machinations to push their poisoned agenda. And I hope that if we do our job correctly, the vote will send them spiraling down into the further depths of oblivion.

They've ruined our country. They've blackened America's soul.

America's center is way to the right of where the "center" would be in most European and Latin American countries.

Hell, America is so far to the right, that the term liberal is used to denote left wingers. In most other countries, "liberals" are at least centrist, and frequently center-right.

This is a graph from Political Compass:

25. America may be to the right of other countries but we are mostly moderates in our system
We swing to the left or right depending upon who we pick as prez every 4 years. The problem with generalizing our system is we have only two parties and awfully big tents under both. If you are a Repub, are you a liberal one, a moderate one, a conservative one, a neo con, or a Pat Buchanan isolationist type? Same goes with Dems, conservative, moderate, liberal, ultra liberal like Bernie Sanders from Vermont? Too hard to characterize all these people as to the "right" or "left". I'd say most Americans are moderate and can be swayed to the left or to the right. Obama probably falls in the moderate to liberal category of Dems but Bush was conservative to neo con and not all Americans, even those who voted for him, were that way. Stupid generalizations and not knowing the history of our country.

27. This is such a joke. Only a few days ago Obama was "the most liberal candidate ever"
and now all of a sudden he's emblematic of the country's conservatism?

Anyone else know "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" behavior when you see it?
