9. Good morning yourself, Ms. Heidi!
As for myself, "morning" was about 10Pm last night (PST). Hopefully, the sun will "set" for me about the same time tonight!

I just blew a kiss towards Gainesville for you. Not far from me at all.

Can't wait to see the papers tomorrow. The world will be rejoicing with all of us.

18. Good Ole Politically Incorrect Italy...
One of their mini headlines (sorry, don't know the actually journalism word) says, "Muore la nonna del canditato nero" = The black candidate's grandmother dies.

Could you imagine the uproar if a major American newspaper reduced McCain and Obama to "the white guy and the black guy?"

:eyes:

Italy is five minutes from my door step. I'm glad to say, though, that not all Italians see the world in black and white.

Mornin', Momgonepostal! I love your username! :hi:

21. Thank you
I picked the user name when I was a postal worker. I've never gotten around to changing it.

Just for the record, I know there are lots of progressively minded Italians. I lived there for a year and a half myself, and found the younger generations particularly more progressive than their parents and grandparents.

22. Very cool!
I wish I'd had a chance to live abroad when I was younger; would have made the learning curve a bit less painful when I finally got around to coming here in my mid-30s. :hi:

26. I know it. You can't imagine how far away I feel tonight.
I've done my part, but Switzerland feels a million miles away from the US tonight. Knowing that my European neighbors want what's best for us, too, closes the distance -- just a bit.

28. this is fantastic--thanks so much!
It's SUCH a great feeling to know that the whole world is on our side, they're excited and happy about what's going to happen here, and we're about to join respectable society again.

The international unity reminds me--but in a 100% happy way this time--of the support we got after September 11th. The entire world was holding us in their thoughts; the support was so touching and so healing. I hope the same healing will happen now and that they will forgive us for the past eight years.
