10. +1 Obama in Alexandria VA
The lady in front of me and the firefighter behind me were Obama as well. Some guy from McCain's campaign was handing out sample ballots outside the polls. He walked right past the young lady and me to give a "sample ballot" to the firefighter behind me. He said "oh this is McCain" and balled it up and threw it away

I'm a woman of color so I know why he didn't offer me one. The young lady in front of me said, "hey, but I'm white and he didn't offer me one..." I said "oh, but you look like a college student....AND you're a woman."

The firefighter said "I get that all the time. And I'm a vet to boot. They assume because I'm a white guy who is a vet that I'm going to vote McCain."

My wait from start to finish took about an hour. Very well organized. Folks from Protect My Vote were there. :bounce:

One of the workers said there was a line out to the street when the doors opened at 6 a.m. We voted at 7:45, and only had to wait in a short line, but it was the only line I've ever seen at that location, and there were about 20 people lined up when we left.

It's going to be a great day for America.

65. It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood, I just voted and the
poling place was mobbed. I spent some time with sign-holders (with my "yes, that one" sticker stuck to my coat. Lots of good comments. I am told that the other 5 polling places in my small town are crowded too. The is rethug country but not any more.

Never thought I'd get so fired up for am election. This day cannot end soon enough. I want to see the evening news so badly.

WE've suffered so long, the end is finally upon us.

85. Eastern WA for Obama!!
We all vote by paper ballot here -- sent mine in last week. When we used to vote at the polls I would take my young boys in with me -- this time we sat and went over the ballot together. My 17 YO is bummed that he can't vote for Obama, but he'll definitely get to help vote Obama into a 2nd term.

147. another SD (Vista) vote for Obama!
the funny thing is, I'm the only Dem here in my office, and I'm the only one who took the time to wake up early and vote before work (coming from a slacker college student who usually comes in 20 min late lol)

I know its wrong to deny ANYONE their right to vote, but I can't help but smile at the thought of my repub coworkers trying to go vote after work and getting stuck on the freeway in a massive traffic jam or something like that...

134. I just voted in Brooklyn, NY.
I have never in my life been as excited to go out and vote as I was today...and I have voted for more years than I am willing to admit.

It was an incredible experience to be able to pull that lever for Barack Obama.
I only had to wait 10 minutes, but I did not go until about noon. The woman there told me that it had been very busy in the morning, and some folks had to wait a half hour. That is a LONG wait at this polling place...
