Diane Sawyer just said that, per Hawaiian law, a certified vote counts, even if the voter dies before Election Day. Ms. Madelyn Lee Payne Dunham's vote was certified on October 27, 2008.

I am so glad that she was able to do that. But, she died knowing that the grandson she raised was a fine man and probably would be President. That was something she could never have foreseen when she was only the second female vice president of the bank where she worked.


Rest well, Ms. Dunham, a trailblazer in so many ways. We've got this one for ya.
