Now I'm Pissed (Grant Park Event Tonight In Chicago).......

I received all the e-mails for donating money to the Obama campaign. I donated money. Then I received the e-mail that they sent to sign up for tickets for the Grant Park function tonight. As soon as it hit my mailbox - I responded. I got a confirmation e-mail that indicated that I was signed up and would receive info in the coming days.

As of right now - I haven't received my ticket for tonight's event. I've replied back to the confirmation e-mail twice now indicating I have yet to receive my ticket and I haven't gotten a response back.

I've made plans to go down to Grant Park and now I have no ticket.

What upsets me - is that I received every e-mail this organization sent out for donations; to help in the campaigning; etc - Everything.

Now - like in every event that one needs a ticket to in Chicago - other people get them first and get the good seats - or I get locked out of an event. Right now I'm really pissed.

I've waited for 8 years to be able to celebrate the passing of BushCo. Tonight was that night to - in a public way at Grant Park - celebrate that.

6. The Confirmation E-Mail Came From The Democratic Party In Chicago......

and not the Obama campaign. I think that the event is being coordinated by them as the Obama campaign has their hands full with Getting Out The Vote.

One thing about Chicago - it's who you know or who you work for that gets the spoils. I heard that there were only 75,000 tickets for the main area - and they were probably doled out those with connections.

I went to Carter's innauguration and could barely pick out who was who.

8. I'm in the same boat

global1, the exact same thing happened to me. I got the first confirmation e-mail and then nothing. My friends have already gotten their tickets. I'm wondering if somehow my e-mail blocked it. I checked my bulk e-mail, but it wasn't there either. I know that since AT&T took over Yahoo, they have security features that even block some of my work e-mails from even hitting my bulk e-mail. It's frustrating, though. Let me know if you figure anything out.
