** Massachusetts Voters Thread **
7:45am for Obama/Biden.

I'm around 5 miles N of Boston.

A dozen people there, a dozen more coming in as I left.

Took less than 5 minutes with a Fill In The Circle With Your Choice paper ballot. Fed into a Dieblod machine.

Voted Y on question to decriminalize marijuana penalties.

No problems seen.

5. voted 1 hour ago
small town in Western Massachusetts. My wife and i went and took the 7 year old. Took 5 minutes. You should see our Vote storage box. Made in 1892(?) it's got a hand crank arm and the paper ballot feeds into a large solid block of wood style box. The best part is a little bell rings when the ballot falls into the pile.

I love voting here...

:)

Passed a guy standing on the side of the road (remember, really small rural town) holding an Obama sign reminding us to vote. We honked and waved.

I'll be phone banking Florida in a few... cheers to everyone on this bright new day!

7. 15 minutes to vote in Lee MA
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 09:04 AM by SecularMotion
It usually takes about 5-10 minutes. I don't know if there were many more people or that my district line was moving slower for some reason. There were definitely more kids with parents than I've seen before. I overheard a few parents saying that their kids were excited about the election.

Voted straight Democratic ticket

9. Hudson checking in...
Got in an out pretty quickly, a lot of people were doing Absentee Balloting this year as their form of early voting. Got my Obama vote in easily and done within 5 minutes or less really once i checked in. No line.

No on questions one through three and yes on the non-binding #4.

16. Another Hudsonite checking - longest line I've ever seen here!
The last three elections I have been the first person to vote at my polling center. Today, my husband and I got there 10 minutes early and there were already 100 people in line! :wow:

Obama, Kerry, no, yes, yes and yes.

And there were even more people waiting in line on our way out! Had a joker behind us handing out donuts saying he might as well start "spreading the wealth around". Who says NE'ers aren't friendly?

10. Just took me all of 20 minutes, and that included the walk there.
The sun is shining, crisp fall weather. Small line, 5 minute wait maybe. By the time I left the line was longer though, cars pulling in and people starting to mill about. Everyone had coffee except for me. I had Mountain Dew. :)

No, Yes, Yes on the ballot questions.

Line was out the door, but it only took about 30 minutes. Voted a straight Dem ticket (not that there were any other options! Everyone was running unopposed in the smaller offices!) and No, Yes, Yes on the ballot initiatives.

12. Out here in Western MA, Northern Berkshire County...

Voting brisk. No lines but given the fact that their are 10 booths to fill out the optical scan ballots for each precinct, it moves very fast.

Steady traffic.

Voted No on 1 (repeal of part of state income tax)

Voted Yes on 2 (change possession penalties of pot)

Voted Yes on 3 to stop dog racing.

In & out in five minutes, the way it has been in every election I have ever voted here.

And, there was a giant bake sale outside with five tables of yummies.

Straight Demo ticket.

29. At last!
I finally voted for JFK! I was too young the first time. Then the bastards killed him. I also voted for RFK, MLK, all the freedom riders and liberals who extended the vote to all minorities, and the brave workers who sacrificed their lives to give us things like the 8 hour day and the 40 hour week. I voted for all these people by filling in the box next to the names of Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Make no mistake, the torch is once again being passed to a new generation. Be a patriot and pick it up to make this great country a better place and the world whole again.

Oh, and: no, yes, yes

There was no wait in Millbury.

31. I voted!
I voted in Arlington today. The lines weren't too bad but after 1 hour already 15% of the registered voters had voted!

The line at the Boston Public Library is around to the back side of the building.

How did everyone vote on teh dog racing issue? I voted to ban it.

PS - My old ID, weezie1317, won't let me sign in anymore. :(

Just voted at the Masonic Center across from City Hall on my lunch break. Figured it would be easier to get in/out in the middle of the day. Loved seeing all the Democratic candidates running unopposed in local elections!
