Report from Hanover, NH - Repukes attempting to suppress the vote |
|
My daughter attends Dartmouth and just sent me this e-mail about what's going on in Hanover this morning:
I just thought I'd let you know that after waking up at 4:30 this morning, I've already personally experienced Republicans sabotaging my work by 6 this morning. They are getting kind of vicious, and tearing down everything we're putting up and trying to get us in trouble for vandalism\ - and they've even taken down non-partisan literature about voting because, like in the past, I think they realize it's better that Dartmouth students just Don't vote b/c they're generally liberal. And the police have already tried to stop others from chalking, but luckily we have 14 lawyers who are really on top of things because there are always attempts to suppress votes here. On the positive side, I voted!!! And it's cool because I have actually seen or met like half of the people I voted for. And, the vibe on campus is pretty exciting, though most people aren't awake yet (tons of people showed up at 4:30 to help!).
I'll update if I hear anything else before I go to volunteer this AM.
